The home is set in a building of a traditional familiar style. It combines old fashioned look with the up-to-date accommodation and equipment standards.

Inside and outside the premises is fully accessible, carefully designed to suit everyone, even those with limited mobility.

The living environment has been decorated to provide visual stimulation to aid those with symptoms of dementia.

The home provides accommodation in 60 single rooms, all fitted with en-suites. 16 of the rooms are fitted with accessible shower rooms. Every floor is equipped with number of DDA accessible bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets.

Chestnut Lodge is a fully registered care home; and as such, fully compliant with all the regulations and requirements of the Care Standards Act; being subject to frequent inspections and appraisals from the Care Quality Commission.


 We strive to always provide the highest standards of care within a warm, comfortable and homely environment.

We tailor care plans individually to each resident, to suit their specific medical and therapeutic needs, as well as social, emotional, cultural and spiritual preferences.

We regularly revise their needs, with residents and their families to meet any changing requirements.

Through our holistic approach to the planning and delivery of care; with the involvement of residents, their families and health professionals; we ensure the appropriate level of care and supervision are given to each individual resident.

Safety and physical well-being are naturally of paramount importance. Though in addition, here at Chestnut Lodge, residents are actively encouraged to take part in activities and events that stimulate the body, mind and spirit.

Our fully qualified staff undergo continual training and development. Their care is supported by a team of dedicated support staff of cooks, domestic cleaning and laundry personnel; all of which are in the control of the Home Manager.

We believe that when you eat well, you live well too.  At Chestnut Lodge our focus is good nutrition and embracing mealtimes as a social enjoyable occasion.

We have a bistro feel dining area with a choice of menus and drinks.  Each day our chefs prepare restaurant style meals to ensure a well balanced diet and meeting any dietary needs of our residents.  We encourage residents to make suggestions on planning the menu's.

The dining room is a hub of conversation and laughter, giving even our more frail residents a chance to come together and socialise.  Whether, it is afternoon tea or a celebration, we encourage our residents to make the most of living in an active and friendly environment.
